Center for Distance Education
The Center for Distance Education (CDE) at Mississippi State University is a dedicated service unit that expands access to academic programs through a range of flexible, non-traditional learning formats. CDE provides leadership, coordination, and support for the development and delivery of the University’s distance education offerings, fostering greater educational access and engagement.
Guided by its mission to empower individuals in achieving their lifelong learning goals, CDE cultivates dynamic partnerships, offers targeted programming, leverages innovative technologies, and delivers exceptional customer service.
CDE collaborates closely with faculty and academic departments to support the implementation of accredited undergraduate and graduate-level distance education programs and certificates. All distance courses maintain the same academic rigor and accreditation standards as traditional on-campus programs. Programs may be delivered fully online or in hybrid formats to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Distance education courses include an instructional support fee and distance fees, which may vary by course, in addition to standard tuition and required fees. These charges are assessed during registration.
With a strongfocus on service, the Center for Distance Education also provides comprehensive support to ensure a positive and successful experience for all distance learners.
