The Bagley College of Engineering was created at MSU in 1902 as the School of Engineering. Named for MSU alumnus James Worth Bagley (EE, B.S. 1961; M.S. 1966) in 2002, the Bagley College of Engineering (BCoE) ranks in the top 100 (88th) engineering graduate programs and is listed in the U.S. News & World Report-America’s Best Graduate Schools.  BCoE Online programs are ranked 24^th nationally by USNWR.  In fall 2016, graduate enrollment totaled 663 (318 M.S.; 345 Ph.D.).  In support of its strategic plan, the BCoE seeks to increase doctoral enrollment and direct-admits qualified B.S. graduates to doctoral programs.  The College is comprised of eight academic departments and offers 11 master’s degrees and 11 doctoral degrees.   Excellence in research is a high priority for BCoE faculty.  The College is comprised of tenure-track faculty members and research faculty who also play an active role in both teaching and research for graduate students. BCoE reported over $9.5 M in research expenditures in 2016 (excludes Computer Science).
